Dailes theater
Reconstruction of Dailes theater Small hall and Rehearsal hall
The reconstruction project solves the transformation of the unprofitable premises of the building into functional, high-quality premises suitable for the theater. This includes solutions for the reconstruction and expansion of the Small Hall, as well as the creation of a new, modern 'black box' rehearsal hall. The project solutions improve the overall quality of the theater function - they both provide additional visitor capacity and improve the working conditions for theater staff. The project only touches internal structure of the theater "Pavilion", keeping the external volume unchanged and without interfering with other parts of the building.
Maldera hall
In order to ensure high-quality theater operation during the reconstruction of the Small Hall and the Rehearsal Hall, it is necessary to create a temporary rehearsal room. This is being done by dividing the largest of the theater workshops – Maldera hall- into two separate rooms. One room is saved as a workshop and the other is transformed into a rehearsal room. The room is divided by a light-structure sound-insulating partition, which can be easily dismantled later.
Since the construction of the Daile Theater building in 1977, the demand for Maldera hall as such has changed considerably. Once upon a time, Maldera hall was intended for painting large-format stage decorations. Such large scale prints are now outsourced. Accordingly, this function does not require such a large square space indoors.
