The girl with the Shoe
Sculptor – Aigars Bikše / Architect – Ilze Liepiņa
The sculpture “Girl with a Shoe” was installed in the Botanical Garden of the University of Latvia in Riga, Kandavas Street 2. The location of the object is chosen close to the entrance to the Botanical Garden from Kandavas street.
The idea of the work is to create an attractive, interactive public art object. The main image of the composition - A girl, is looking for her missing shoe, but to the viewer it seems that she is looking at the visitor, lifting the roof of the house.
The girl's figure is cast in aluminum, it has an aluminum support frame. The girl's aluminum figure is painted with an aluminum-compatible paint in different shades.
The load-bearing structure of the house is made of stainless steel. Cladding - tar-treated oak spun boards.
