Private residence in Ogre
The private residence in Ogre is designed as a one-storey, linear, heterogeneous arrangement of volumes. The building has been designed respecting the location of the plot, the relief, and being influenced by the diverse nature of the surrounding buildings.
The new volumes created in wood and brick are formed by the interaction of two references:
1) Ogre's rich collection of early 20th century summer house architecture, its materiality, volumes and details.
2) The context of the surrounding buildings, dividing them into several volumes. The spatiality and character of each volume emphasizes its function. All volumes are combined to form a division of technical-recreational areas, creating a new courtyard separated from the public area.
The public façade is supplemented with plants to emphasize the charm of a private house surrounded by nature, its traditional gable roof correlates with the surrounding buildings.
The visual image of the building emphasizes its layout, where lower auxiliary volumes are arranged around a spatially emphasized living space, creating a modern geometric composition.
The central element of the layout is a 59.8 m2 living / dining room with a fireplace. If necessary, it can be divided by a sliding door, obtaining an additional bedroom.
In the north of the composition there is a sauna with its auxiliary rooms. It has its own exit to the large terrace with a 4x8m swimming pool.
