Private residence in Sigulda
"Switzerland" in Sigulda.
Reconstruction of a traditional building in Sigulda from the 1930s using simple resources.
The building was renovated by owners within 5 years using DIY methods, with the help of the office's architects – assisting with a layout sketch and solutions for individual details.
The layout of the building has been completely changed within the existing walls, with the veranda on the south side as the main accent. The two-storey veranda, shaded by trees and hedges, is currently the center of the house.
The building has a very large garden, which allows the white reconstructed volume of the building to be assessed both in close-up detail and from a distance.
